Valentine’s Day in Charleston

Valentine’s Day in Charleston

Considering a romantic getaway to Charleston for Valentine’s Day? Good thinking! Almost everything you could want to rekindle the flame is in America’s most historic city.

twomeetingstreetinnStart with where you’ll stay, whether a package deal at one of the area’s many outstanding hotels or bed and breakfasts, like Two Meeting Street Inn, pictured here. Choose among a quaint spot off the beaten path, the hustle and bustle of a b&b in the historic district or a stay at the water’s edge.

Relax on one of the spectacular beaches – whether funky Folly, family-friendly Isle of Palms, upscale Sullivan’s Island, exclusive Kiawah Island or one of the more secluded oceanfronts. Take a long walk, hand-in-hand on the pier and then have a leisurely lunch on the beach at Tides on Folly Beach, Poe’s Tavern on Sullivan’s or The Boathouse on IOP.

Relax together on an edifying carriage ride through downtown and a harbor cruise alongside the dolphins frolicking in our waterways. (That’s our favorite, of course. Cruises start back up just in time.)

Forget the chocolates and flowers: Charleston is a romantic’s dream.
