Who doesn’t love a great selfie? How about a clever #hashtag? And, of course, there’s the never-ending quizzes, cat videos and baby memes that make their way around Facebook. Join us and other Charleston social media lovers for Social Media Day from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at The Alley, 131 Columbus St. in Charleston.
Hosted by the Charleston Hospitality Social Media Group, the event invites social media geeks and digital revolutionaries around the Lowcountry to hang at The Alley for food, drinks and social networking.
To celebrate, use the hashtag #chsyou to show what the Holy City is all about through King Street selfies, sunsets and random Bill Murray sightings, from now until June 30. May we suggest some beautiful shots of the Charleston harbor? Mashable.com launched National Social Media Day in 2010, and this year Charleston will be among the cities from across the globe celebrating the social media revolution.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Most Spirited Award (Charleston’s “Top Dog” of social media)
- Most “Charleston” Picture
- Most Creative Use of the Hashtag #chsYOU
- Charleston Foodies
- Selfie with a Charleston Celebrity (just where is Bill Murray hanging out this summer?)
Charleston Harbor Tours is offering up tons of prizes so join us on Social Media Day for a chance to win. We’re #excited to see you!
