Charleston Brews the Focus of Spring Events

Charleston Beer GardenLocal breweries have sprung up all over the Charleston area in the last few years. If you love trying craft beers, there’s no shortage of events and activities where you can sample a local brew. Check out these three upcoming events.

Spring Jam Fest: Spend the afternoon enjoying performance art, visual art, food, brews and wine plus artisan and craft vendors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at The Grove at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant. The music lineup is top notch, featuring Ed Roland & The Sweet Tea Project, Leftover Salmon, Milo Greene, Sol Black, The High Divers, Lefty at the Washout and more. Plus drink your cold craft beer while watching entertainment by Glitterhoopz, The Missing Links for breakdancing and The Music Battery drumline from North Charleston.

Charleston Brew HaHa: Laughs and crafts are on tap for the first Brew HaHa, a celebration of local craft beer and comedy. The event is 5-10 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Sample beer tastings from Charleston area breweries, live music provided by Awendaw Green, food vendors, samples from Charleston homebrewers and a comedy show by Dusty Slay and Jason Groce.

Charleston Beer Garden: More than 30 craft brews on tap plus plenty of tasty local eats will be available from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at The Grove at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant. Rock out to tunes from The Broadcast, Lefty at the Washout, The High Divers, The Jaystorm Project and Don Merckle & The Blacksmiths.
