In just THREE days, Charleston will be hosting one of the most amazing festivals in the country—the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, of course! The festival is actually a local version of its parent festival, Spoleto.
Instead if bringing together international artists and cultures, like the main Spoleto Festival, the Piccolo Spoleto Festival celebrates the artists and cultures from around the Southeastern regions of the Unites States.
During the week of May 24 – June 9, 2013 the Piccolo Spoleto event in Charleston will be hosting a wide spectrum of attractions, exhibits, and events, including visual arts exhibits, musical performances, theatre shows, dancing, poetry readings, cultural presentations, arts and crafts, children activities, and so much more.
But the events you DON’T WANT TO MISS are the Lowcountry Blues Cruises aboard Charleston’s only traditional riverboat, The Carolina Queen!
We will be partnering with Piccolo Spoleto to offer FOUR different Charleston Blues Cruises, each featuring a different blues band from the Southeast!
See below for details on each of the four Lowcountry Blues Cruises (or click here to purchase tickets!):
Sunday, May 26 with Shelly Waters: Join Shelly Waters, “Swamp Pop Princess,” for an unforgettable and exciting Blues Cruise around the spectacular Charleston harbor! Plucked straight from southern Louisiana, Shelly and her brand promise to fill your night with gumbo and swamp-inspired blues music.
Monday, May 27 with Jeff Beasley & Chuck “The Cat” Morris: Hop aboard The Carolina Queen to watch the infamous one-man blues band, Jeff Beasley & Chuck “The Cat” Morris, for high-energy blues!
Sunday, June 2 with Shrimp City Slim: If you’ve ever attended our weekly Blues & BBQ Cruise on the Carolina Belle, then you know who Shrimp City Slim is and you likely love them just as much as we do! In the Charleston scene since the 80s, Shrimp City Slim is one of the Lowcountry’s most highly acclaimed artists.
