Inspired by the rhythm and soul of the Lowcountry, Shrimp City Slim (aka Gary Erwin) is a Charleston-based singer, songwriter, and keyboard player known for his hip-swaying Lowcountry blues and catchy, original tunes.

You can find him performing around the Charleston area with his fantastic band that perform on a variety of instruments, including the drums, harmonica, keyboard, and electric guitar. Some of the places you might spot the acclaimed Shrimp City Slim at around town are J. Paul’z Tapas on James Island (5 minutes from downtown Charleston), Tru Blues House of Wings in Mount Pleasant (15 minutes from downtown Charleston), and, of course, the award-winning Blues & BBQ Cruise aboard The Carolina Belle every Thursday!

Aside from performances in the Charleston area, Shrimp City Slim also plays across the country, as well as in Europe and Asia, putting on approximately 150+ musical performances each year. Gary has even performed on stage with some of the industry’s most renowned musicians, including Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Jimmy Rogers, BB King, Bobby Blue Band, and many more.
