Oyster Season in Charleston

There is nothing like oyster season in Charleston, and you know what oyster season means… oyster roasts! So get your shuckers ready for some steaming buckets of delicious oysters. Check out our three favorite oyster roasts here in Charleston!

The Charleston Oyster Roast at the Dill Sanctuary

The Charleston Museum hosts an oyster roast annually at the Dill Sanctuary located in Charleston. The Dill Sanctuary is a gorgeous wildlife sanctuary that typically isn’t opened to the public. Get excited to shuck some oysters while enjoying the beautiful scenery around you and amazing views of the Stono River. This year’s event will be held on February 24th from 12:00-3:00 pm featuring live music from Dallas Baker & Friends, barbecue from Sticky Fingers, and doughnuts from Diggity Doughnuts.

Lowcountry Oyster Festival at Boone Hall

How do 80,000 pounds of oysters sound to you? To us, it seems like a good time! This is one of the largest oyster festivals in the world, with live music, wine and beer, and oyster eating contests, this makes the festival one of the most anticipated social events of the season! Drive on over to Boone Hall and enjoy a fun day eating oysters at this fundraiser helping charities such as The Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Charleston County Schools Science Materials Resource Center. This event is set for January 27 from 10:00-5:00 pm, so grab your tickets today!

Oysters on the Point

What’s better than an oyster roast? Four months of oysters! This monthly series of oyster roasts will be held at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina in Mount Pleasant. Oysters on the Point, sponsored by 105.5 The Bridge, provides locally steamed oysters, a Bloody Mary bar, live music, and a wide assortment of craft beer from local microbreweries. This roast is one we love, and you get to experience it throughout the upcoming winter months! Click here for upcoming dates.

Now that your mouth is watering, it’s time for some local oysters! If you would like more information on the events or want to climb aboard one of our tours with us, then contact us via our website or by calling us at 843-722-1112. Bring your appetites and happy shucking!
