The Perfect Weekend Itinerary for the Perfect Southern Bachelorette Party in Charleston

The Perfect Weekend Itinerary for the Perfect Southern Bachelorette Party in Charleston

charleston harbor toursLooking to experience an epic bachelorette party (much more classy than The Hangover style, of course)? Then, Charleston is the place to go!

Here is our ultimate bachelorette party weekend itinerary so that you and your bridesmaids get the most out of your charming weekend in the south:

Day 1: Let the party begin!

Arrive midday on Friday and head to your hotel in downtown Charleston (*see the end of this post for a list of hotel recommendations). Need to wait for more of the girls to arrive? Head to one of the most-talked about bars in downtown Charleston for happy hour! Some of our favorite happy hour hot spots include Fish, Southend Brewery & Smokehouse, Fuel, The Cocktail Club, and HoM.

Head back to your hotel to take a shower and get ready for an exciting evening out on the town!

As the sun begins to set, grab a nice dinner on East Bay Street or the Market Street area. Some of our favorite restaurants include:

  • S.N.O.B.: This is a pricey, high-end restaurant, so if you’re looking for a fantastic fine dining restaurant, this is where you want to go!
  • Wasabi (on Society Street): This is a Japanese restaurant with some fantastic sushi and hibachi dishes.
  • Tommy Condons Irish Pub: If you’re looking for a laid back pub atmosphere with great Irish food and a fantastic traditional Irish band, this is hands down the place to be.
  • Giovanni’s: For some of the best pizza you’ll ever have (New York quality we’re talking!), go to Giovanni’s on Market Street. Note that the slices are HUGE.

After dinner it’s time for some bar hopping! Don’t miss Social, Blind Tiger, Hank’s (rooftop), Envy (dancing), Tommy Condons, Mynt, Cocktail Club, and the list goes on and on.

Day 2: Adventures in Charleston

It’s Saturday morning and it’s time to soak in some authentic Charleston culture! Start the day with some breakfast at Toast! .

After breakfast, there are dozens of things to do, and because every bachelorette group is different, we outlined two different ways to spend your Saturday in Charleston, based on the group’s overall personality!

For a shop-til-you-drop kind of group:

Start off your day at The Charleston City Market for a dash of Charleston culture! Lined with vendors, selling everything from handcrafted sweetgrass baskets to plates of Charleston BBQ, and local works of art to Charleston-made jewelry, The Charleston City Market is the ideal place to purchase gifts, home décor, and beautiful accessories, as well as grab a bite of Lowcountry delights!

The shopping doesn’t stop after the market, though. Now it’s time to hit up boutiques on King Street! As Charleston’s most famous shopping hub, King Street is lined with quaint boutiques that offer unique products that you won’t find in the mainstream stores.

After a few hours of shopping, it’s time to refuel with a tasty southern lunch at Leaf Café & Bar. This beautifully appointed café offers innovative dishes and a sophisticated yet simple atmosphere. Some of the most popular menu items offered at Leaf include meatloaf, fire roasted corn & crab cakes, the Leaf burger, and the boccadillo. All of their sandwiches are accompanied by your choice of parmesan truffle fries, sweet potato fries, Leaf slaw, roasted beats, or frickles.

Feeling happy and full, it’s time to make your way over to the Aqua Day Spa & Nails for manicures and pedicures!

For a group looking to soak in some Charleston culture and attractions:

Charleston is literally bursting with history and mesmerizing culture, so it can be tough to decide what to do first and what items to add to your agenda. Don’t sweat it. We have just the activities for you to do so that you get a bit of Charleston harbor history, downtown culture, and plantation history.

Start the day off on a 9am carriage ride of downtown Charleston, where you’ll learn about Charleston’s beginnings and its most famous architecture, as well as some fascinating stories from back in the day.

Follow your carriage ride by a 11:30am narrated, 90-minute historic Charleston harbor tour. Here, your captain will point out the many attractions and points of interest on Charleston harbor, and you’ll even have the opportunity to observe dolphins!

Continue on to Boone Hall Plantation, where you’ll witness some of Charleston’s most beautiful property, speckled with towering live oaks and drizzles of Spanish moss. You can choose to tour the plantation on your own, or take a guided tour.

As night falls, grab a bite to eat before spooking yourselves out on a Charleston Ghost Tour with Bull Dog Tours! They offer a variety of exceptional ghost tours that are guaranteed to send chills up your spine!

Day 3: Unwind after a night of good fun

There is no better way to end this epic weekend then with the beach. Head over to Sullivan’s Island around 11:30am / noon to grab a bite to eat as one of the island’s amazing restaurants, including Dunleavy’s Pub, Taco Mamacita, Poe’s Tavern, The Co-Op, and Home Team Barbecue. All offer diverse menus, so you simply can’t go wrong with whichever one you choose.

After a tasty lunch, head down to the Sullivan’s Island beach to soak up some rays, enjoy some magazines or a book, and take a dip in the warm, salty water.

Once you’ve had enough of the sun, it’s most likely time to head back home and start dreaming about your NEXT trip to Charleston!
